MEG's 20th Anniversary!
The MEG's Programme Leads (Prof. Dr. Heiner Schanz, Prof. Dr. Michael Pregernig, Seirra Römmermann, Esther Muschelknautz) who have been at the helm of steering the MEG since its inception, reflected on how the programme has evolved over the past 20 years; highlighting how the course's interdisciplinary focus on sustainability, and emphasis on developing cross-cutting competencies, is all the more relevant today. The panel also highlighted how the versatility of the MEG has strengthened over the years, thereby being an attractive programme across disciplines, while also remaining cross-sectorally relevant. One thing that remains unchanged however is the energy and warmth of the MEG community, a defining characteristic that holds its ground across MEG generations.
The event also saw vibrant panels composed of, and moderated by former MEGgies, who drew on their experiences post the MEG, and reflected on the realities of embedding their learnings in real world contexts. The panels ranged from topics across:
1. To Corporate or Not to Corporate? Embedding Sustainability Where it Counts
2. From Knowledge to Action: Scaling Sustainability Across Systems
3. From Forest to City to the EU and beyond: Integrating Sustainability and Circularity
We are very thankful to the 20th Birthday Orga Team and all the volunteers whose efforts made the event a huge success, and we look forward to more such engagements in the future!
